I ordered it about the time 7.0.10 was out, so by that time the kinks had mostly gone, and they still updated it 6 times after that.!Ĭheck out the forums if you haven't, some useful people over there and there might even be a solution amidst the fray. Just a few more betas wouldn't've gone awry!Ĭomparatively, with 7 I don't think it crashed once on me. piled it on good though, which is nothing to be frowned upon. They seem to have incorporated more than they can keep track of with the various changes to the way clips are warped, the APC, the MFL etc. Had some vicious crashes that needed restarts when loading projects up and some simple vanishings mid-tune too. I ordered 7, then updated to 8 and I'm finding 8 really finnicky, as are many others over at and. It's got all the latest versions of everything from 1 to 8 ready to download, so if you've got 8 I think (and hope) that you should be able to get hold of the back catalogue.

Hey again, to get hold of 7, if you log into Ableton's main website, head to the download section. PS! I have been adjusting the buffer up and down + splitting the Live sessions up into several ones to minimize the amount of files being used in each.Įdit: Had to spell it "st-utter" in order to avoid some smiley appearing. If anyone has a solution for this I would be extremely grateful. This in general isn't a horrible problem, but I am currently working on a theatre musical where st-utters like this really kills a scene on stage if it happens at the wrong time, which it has It never happens twice at the same spot in a scene and some days it will do it a lot, while other days it doesn't do it at all. After the st-uttering stops (which never lasts for more than a second or so) the files will keep playing as if nothing had happened, meaning that the tempo and everything is intact, making it sound more like I added an effect for a second. Then to the problem: At random times when a scene is playing, the audio files will st-utter before they keep playing. There are no sends, effects, plugins etc. One scene never has files in all 10 tracks - rather around 6 or 7. The Live setup is fairly simple with about 10 audio tracks containing the scene audio files. Stutter Edit is the first collaboration between iZotope and composer and electronic musician Brian Transeau (BT). Stutter Edit is the perfect complement to programs like Ableton Live for revitalizing remixes, mashups, or arrangements. I am using the Alesis ControlPad to launch scenes. Its Stutter Editan innovative tool for both studio and stage, designed by BT and developed by iZotope. The Live buffer is set to about 600 - giving around 11ms delay. Sound interface is a MOTU 24 IO that connects via an internal (pci?) card.
but in a lot of modern production it can be a cool effect to add to a vocal or synth.
